People have an unusual interest in astrology. They read their daily horoscopes, either for fun or to see what their day will bring. The fact that these horoscopes apply to one twelfth of the world population does not matter to them. There are certain things in astrology which do hold true.

Most people think there are the twelve signs and twelve personalities. In actuality there are twenty-four personalities. Anyone born between the first and the tenth of the month are true to their signs. Anyone born between the fifteenth and the sixth of the following month have both personalities. It just depends on which side that person is born on. For example, someone born on the twenty seventh of the month has the personality of their sign with an underscore of the previous sign.

By now, someone is asking what does this have to do with spirituality. The answer is simple. What we try to achieve is the perfect balance of all the signs to become our true spiritual self.

Aries is assertive, and a leader. Taurus is practical and stable. Gemini is an intellectual. Cancer is loyal and family values. Leo is expressive and magnanimous. Virgo is logical and creative. Libra is balanced and fair. Scorpio is perceptive and dependable. Sagittarius is highly intuitive and honest. Capricorn is patient and self reliant. Aquarius is sincere and friendly. Pisces is kind and sympathetic.

As you can see from above, I only listed the good qualities of these signs. The negative qualities reflect what are considered the deadly sins. For example, Aries can be very selfish in their quest to be noticed. That goes directly with the definition of Lust. Aries can also walk all over anyone that gets in the way of their ambition. This becomes the definition of Greed. Aries can feel they are better and smarter than everyone else. This is the definition of Pride.

Taurus can be very lazy (Sloth). They can be very Greedy, and Jealous (Envy).

Anyone that knows a Gemini knows there are two distinct personalities. One is ‘fondly’ referred to as the evil twin. This side can be manipulative, (pride) self-centered (lust), prejudice (wrath).

Cancer can be opinionated (wrath), sloppy and lazy (sloth).

Leo can be intolerant (wrath), conceited (pride), patronizing (lust), jealous (envy).

Virgo can be blunt, over critical, and perfectionist (pride)

Libra can be resentful (envy), vain (pride), and lazy (sloth).

Scorpio can be jealous and resentful (envy), intolerant (wrath), obsessive (gluttony).

Sagittarius can be immoral (lust), procrastinate (sloth), impatient (pride)

Capricorn can be miserly (gluttony), egotistical (pride), jealous (envy)

Aquarius can be opinionated (pride), irresponsible ( sloth)

Pisces can be selfish (gluttony), immoral (lust), lazy (sloth)

Every sign has a negative side which can be associated with one or more of the seven deadly sins. What we have to do is recognize the negative side and try to eliminate it from our personality. Too often, this is easier said than done. By recognizing these negative signs are from the dark side, and by indulging in them we are falling into the trap of the dark one, it becomes easier to try and eliminate them from our personalities.

No one is perfect. The Higher Powers do not expect anyone to be. All they are asking of us is to try and achieve our true potential of the positive sides of each sign and eliminate the negative side from our thought process. The operative word here is try. If we are able to eliminate even one of these negative sins, we have taken a closer step to our true spirit. If we can eliminate one of these, then the opposite - one of the seven Heavenly Virtues will take its place. If we can eliminate wrath from our conscious, than love for our fellow man can take its place. If we can eliminate greed from our personalities, than we will become more merciful.

By recognizing we are truly unique individuals, with unlimited potential, we can change the world into a paradise instead of the mess it is in now.

Astrology can be a very complex science. There are many aspects to consider when determining compatibility between two signs. One of the best, easiest, and often overlooked way to see if two signs are compatible is by simply understanding the elements.

There are four elements, and each one is attributed to three specific signs.

Fire
Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Air
Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Earth
Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Water
Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Each of these elements have certain characteristics, and I will give you a brief summary of what those are.

Passive, Receptive, Reactive, Intuitive

It could be possible that you are beginning to understand which elements are the most likely to blend well together. As a "general" rule, in dealing with the elements, Fire mixes with Air, and Earth mixes with Water. I know it seems far too general, and much too simple to be taken seriously, but in my experience it can create a solid foundation in considering compatibility. If you are a casual Astrology fan, and calculating planetary aspects between two charts is not your bag, then this is a much simpler formula you can incorporate. You will find that it sells itself in the end. You can also get insights as to why you are most attracted to certain types of people, when the "general" rule does not seem to apply to you specifically. Of course, a natal chart would most definitely complement this, because you would be able to see exactly why you find yourself leaning towards a certain type. There is a great number of free sites that you can find on the web that will generate a natal chart for you. For instance, my personal natal chart does not contain a single Earth, or Water element sign. I often find myself very drawn to the Earthy signs, and Alpha personalities. But, on the other hand, very distant from Water signs. This is because I am predominately Air influenced. Air, and Water signs have the most trouble blending together. Those relationships can be difficult if there is not some sort of balance elsewhere in the horoscope. Which is a good start at better understanding who your attracted to and why. Before we dive into the technical aspects of astrology and exactly how the science works, we first need to set the record straight about exactly what astrology is and what it isn't, as their are many misconceptions about this science that need to be put to rest. Hopefully this article will be able to do just that.

Astrology, as a belief, is a science that essentially connects your outer world to your inner world to reveal the potentials that you have as a human being. This is not to say that the influences of astrology are absolute. Just because a person has an astrological chart that shows he will be a great leader of people doesn't mean that this will necessarily come to pass. This is where free will comes into play.

Astrological influences are like little strings that tug on each person. How much influence these strings have on you depends on your own strength of will, or in the case of many people, lack of strength of will. For example, Astrological influences may cause someone to develop an addictive personality that will be prone to problems such as addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling or a number of other things. How likely that person is to actually become an addict depends a lot on their own free will and strength of will. This does not minimize the astrological influences, which could be very strong, but what it does is put them into perspective in that they are not absolute. Free will is always the ultimate decider. You can fight the influences, good or bad, or you can give in to them.

Where astrology comes into play is like this. It is easy to predict, using astrology, that you are going to have major changes come into your life at home. Perhaps outside forces beyond your control will force certain changes. For example, forces may indicate that your home is in some kind of danger, possibly from storm or fire or maybe even from a break-in. Where free will comes in is how you handle this news. You can choose to ignore it and possibly have your house get hit by a falling tree, or you can take precautions to avoid it which may include moving. Ultimately what you decide to do in response to the foreseen problem is what will ultimately determine the final outcome.

Now in the case of using your free will to wait to see what happens, some people would say that you are really doing nothing, That may be true. In that case the normal response to what happens would be that it was fate. This may also be true. But in either case, whatever you were supposed to learn from these astrological forces, you have learned. If you acted and it turned out well, then you learned to rely on your instincts to do something. If you didn't act and disaster struck then you learned that maybe you need to be more decisive about things. In either case, fate of not, you learned your lesson from the astrological forces. This in itself could be called fate in that you were meant to learn the lesson in this manner.

Many astrologers believe that you really don't have a choice. Ultimately what you decide to do has already been decided for you by the astrological forces themselves. In other words, if an astrologer tells you that your job is in danger of being lost and you are proactive and get another job before this happens, your actions were predetermined by the astrological forces themselves even though it was your own free will.

Obviously, that theory will be debated for centuries to come. But the point is, whatever the astrological forces have in store for you, ultimately it is up to you to decide how to deal with them. Therefore, astrology is not fortune telling. It is simply a warning of things that might happen depending on how you react or don't react to the circumstances.

Are you interested in astrology and horoscopes? Many people would like to have their futures foretold so they can prepare beforehand. Yet, there is no absolute certainty in visiting a seer. All you can do is give it a try and hope for the best.

However, you may be able to read someone’s character by studying his or her face. You’ve heard of palm reading; but what about facial reading? You don’t have to dabble in black magic to get a reading of someone’s destiny. A close look at their features, expression, and gestures may be enough to provide a glimpse of their future. Here are a few things to look for.

1. Study the person’s physiogamy. This is an older form of character study dating to the early 1800’s. Basically, you examine a person’s features, or the “map” of their face, for an indication of their strengths, weaknesses, and destination. A person with a large head may have a significant IQ, although sometimes the opposite is true, in certain cases. A low brow may denote cunning, while a wide brow suggests sensitivity and intellect. Wide-set eyes may reveal a person who is cautious and watchful, while close-set eyes hint at a limited thought span. A receding chin is sometimes reflective of one who is passive or retiring. Pursed lips often belong to fearless or aggressive individuals. These are general traits and can be assembled in a variety of ways on innumerable faces. It is up to the individual interpreter to attach meaning to their arrangement on a specific person.

2. Examine the person’s eyes. A subject who returns a frank stare may be curious or honest. A brash stare suggests arrogance, on the other hand, and may even hint at someone with something to hide. A person who cannot hold an eye-locking gaze for more than a second or two may be shy, modest, anxious, or guilty. One who stares into space or in another direction, like out the window, could be distracted or bored. Study the retina for hidden expressions of character. Although these are hard to put into words, you may be able to interpret the meaning when you see it.

3. Pay attention to gestures or expressions. A nervous tic could denote anxiety. A tight mouth might reveal someone’s nervousness, irritation, or lack of honesty. When someone turns his or her face from you in a half-angle, the person could be trying to hide something. Looking down or away also may suggest shyness or a lack of openness.

You will need to put all the clues together in a person’s face to make sense of the pattern that seems to be emerging. From it you can tell something of an individual’s character and the direction that his or her life is taking. Give it a try with someone you know to see how accurate your assessment is, and then try it, without saying anything, on someone you are getting to know, and watch to see how things turn out.

In this context the conception of our ancient scriptures is thus:

SAPTMAYN SINHIKAPUTRE KULDOSHVIVARDHINI, NARI SUKHPRITYAKTA TUNGE SWAMIRSUKHANVITA.

Meaning that in the horoscope of the person if Rahu is situated in the 7th house then the woman will be prone to blemish in character(adulterous) and is wretched. If this Rahu is placed in the 7th house then the woman will be happy with his husband in his house.
